We will need about 11 or 12 volunteers who will be willing to meet us there and work with the kids all day. We prepare the students in class by learning about how businesses and money work. They also learn how to apply and interview for a job, and how to manage their money.
This is one of the most favorite days of 5th grade each year. The students learn so much about the "real world" while having a blast! I can't wait!

*Must be a NOVEL. AKA Chapter book. Graphic Novels and Picture books do not count.
*No written report is required for any book report. Just follow the different rules for each one.
*I will send home/post a rubric for each book report so you know how it will be graded.
*Book Reports will NOT be accepted late for any reason other than illness. If you know you will be absent, turn it in early!
Manufacturing Fairs:
We will have 2 Fairs this year (dates listed below). Your student will be given time each Friday for 3-4 weeks before our fairs to work on their project. All materials must be brought from home. Don't spend a lot of money on this and be creative! Make around 20 objects to sell. You can make more if you like.

- Tallied at the end of May.
- Keep track at home and at school.
- If you lose your sheet, you can print another on the Printables page.
- Stretch daily to prepare for the Physical Fitness Tests. Most kids struggle with the Sit & Reach (reaching past your toes with knees straight).
- Practice times and division tables at home nightly.
- Fun project the last month of school.
- To be completed AT HOME.
- Build a container for a raw egg to not crack or break when thrown off the school.
- Only requirements:
- No bigger than 2ft x 2ft.
- No Styrofoam allowed.
- No Parachutes or Balloons allowed (to make it fall slower).
- Be creative and have fun!
